high school rebellion lameness...

So I was sitting at a table having a cup of tea and a deep conversation with a good mate of mine recently while the TV was quietly going about its business in the background. The show or ad changed, and we both fall silent as the following lyrics started playing and taking us back to our younger days...

"All I wanna do is have some fun,
I got a feeling I'm not the only one.
All I wanna do is have some fun,
I got a feeling I'm not the only one.
All I wanna do is have some fun,
Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard"

Me : "I used to love that song back in the day..."

Mate : "Yeah, same"

Me : "I remember when I used to use a tape recorder to tape it off the radio and play it back..."

Mate : "Yeah, me too. I used to play it all the time, it was kind of my 'default rebellion song' when I was in high school... all I wanna do is have some fun!".

Me : "I know, I was exactly the same..."

**Silent moment of reflection on our past***

Me : "How lame are we, that our anthem of teenage rebellion is by Sheryl Crow."

Mate : "I know!"

**Silent reflection of our lameness**

Together : "Lets put some vodka in this tea and get buzzed and read todays newspaper!"
